The server shouldn't have free/unlimited teleports, but I think we can tweak it to allow more teleports without damaging the economy. The plan has multiple phases:
1) Add costs for existing teleports. This probably just means adding a small cost to the /back command. Teleporting to /spawn should always be free (so new players and players with no money have a way of getting themselves unstuck). Teleporting to your home in the city should probably also be free. 2) Add /sethome and /home commands (maybe). If we do this, /sethome should be fairly expensive, and /home should be about as expensive as /back

I was also thinking of warps/sethomes as well. I was thinking something of the lines of you can buy a Warp location for lets say $1500 and every time you use it it costs $150. But you can create 5 warps and each of them are personal to you, to make it easy you could do the command /setwarp1 etc etc to warp /warp1 and to sell for lets say $750 /sellwarp1. You cannot set warps on other people's land, Nether or in the End.

IMO--get rid of /back entirely and give people one /sethome that they have to manage. /back has always been, in my opinion, a cheesy command. It essentially takes the sting of death out of the game and renders "survival" mode completely useless. Survival is really nothing more than creative mode without the infinite resources when you can /back to your death point and instantly grab all your stuff. I've died 6 times here so far---with the exception of the time I fell into lava I just did /back and got all my loot. You would boost the economy more by forcing people to replace stuff they lost on death rather than allowing them to just do /back and pick it all back up. /Sethome, on the other hand, is something you have to strategically manage. If you have a spot outside of the city then you'll likely set your home there and use /home and /spawn to travel from the city to your wildlands plot. That's fine. What if you go mining and find a sweet spot but now your pack is full? Right now: you /spawn or /re warp, run to your plot, empty your back and /back to get back to mining right where you left off. Too easy, too cheesy. With a /sethome you have to decide.....do I want to move my /home to this mining spot and then have to run back to my wildlands plot next time I want to go there? It's a strategic choice you have to make. I'd even go as far as to remove town plot warps, but I'm hardcore like that.

I mostly agree with you, Favith, but I think popular sentiment is not on your side. You should start by sharing your opinion in this poll. Though maybe if there was a good alternative to /back, people would not be so upset if it went away. I'm still thinking though how I want teleports to work, and it is one of the next things that I want to address.

I removed the /back command, and now we have the following things instead: - You can now /sethome in land you own and then do /home to teleport to the location you set. Both of these things cost you money each time you use them.
- The game will tell you the location that you died, so you can write it down and venture back to that location to retrieve your things.
- When you die, your items will (in most cases) be placed in a chest so you can take your time getting your items back. Other players may not retrieve items from your death chest.
I also added a large region where you can claim small areas of land for the purpose of building a camp and setting a home in that camp. When you are adventuring, I recommend you establish a camp before you venture into any caves or other risky places.
I want to share my motivation for removing the /back command. The main reason that it was removed is that it allows any location to be a teleport destination, which violates all sorts of assumptions when I am trying to do other things. For example, imagine I am building a parkour course in the arena and I want to give a prize every time a player reaches the end of the course. A player could get to the top once, do /spawn, return the the beginning of the course, and then do /back repeatedly to get the prize over and over. I could try to limit where you can go with /back, or program around it in the parkour game (by e.g. checking for teleports), but the simplest solution is to just remove /back.
